Job Description

Well Optimization Technician

Overview:

If you are selected as a Well Optimization Technician, you will be working in field operations with Lead Operators and Production Foremen to provide well optimization services. This may include trouble shooting, repairing, or replacing equipment at well sites.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Optimizing artificial lift performance by studying well performance, shooting fluid levels, performing dynamometer surveys, respacing wells, managing pump-off controllers, and working with engineering and operations personnel.
  • Recognizing inefficient pumping performance, analyzing problems, recommending, and implementing solutions.
  • Responsible for maintaining mobile inventory
  • Complete Job Safety Analysis reports and provide notification of safety and technical issues
  • Comply with all Company policies, procedures and safety requirements including the instructions and directions from individuals in supervisory positions.
  • Complete administrative duties such as well test and billing reports

Qualifications:

  • Current and Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean Driving Record
  • Basic Computer Skills in Word and Excel
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must be a self-starting individual, competent, enthusiastic, and work well both independently and with a team.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing over 2/3 time
  • Walking over 2/3 time
  • Sitting under 2/3 time
  • Lifting of up to 50lbs 50% of time
  • On-the-job time spent in the following physical activities:
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less)
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Loud (examples: Oil Field Equipment, large earth-moving equipment)
